History
Viskans origins began with the clothing chain JC's development department
nowadays part of the stock listed RnB). Viskan started solely as a
consulting agency in 1996. In the beginning JC was the only large customer
and even today (autumn 2007) they are still an important customer.
In 1997 the idea was born to develop a system for handling orders and invoicing
for mail order companies. Viskan had developed a stock system for a third-party logistics
firm and many of the customers there also had a need for a business solution.
It was then that Retail and Mail Order System (RAMOS) was born.
The first customers were Kollektion, Sandbergs Postorder, and Naturelab.
It was here that the ground was laid for Viskan's subscription system.
All of these had clubs of different forms.
Today Viskan has about 40 customers that use RAMOS. The customer's turnover
range from just a couple million to hundreds of millions in Swedish Crowns (SEK).
They are also spread throughout Europe.
